Cape Town Holidays – Witness History

The chief attractions of a trip to South Africa are Cape Town holidays. Cape Town is easily accessible from the Johannesburg, Durban, and other major cities of South Africa, as well as from the other cities from around the world, connected very well by air. There is much to see, experience, and enjoy in this bustling city, with popular landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cableway, Robben Island, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Castle of Good Hope, Two Oceans Aquarium and the World of Birds. And that would be to name a few of the prominent attractions that you would not want to miss during your Cape Town holidays.

If you love an aerial view of Cape Town, you would want to take up Table Mountain in all earnestness. This is one of the chief attractions of Cape Town Holidays, given that you could have a safe trip up the hill and on your path down, fully equipped with cable cars providing for a bird's eye view of the lovely city. Of course, you are free to make your own way while you are atop the mountain, enjoying the amazing sunset, perhaps, or slipping a drink or two down your throat as you relish the altitudes and the fresh wind that brushes past to make the most of your Cape Town holidays. If you are a hiking enthusiast, you could shun the cable cars and make your way to the top through some of the established hiking paths. Make sure you do carry a map along.

Cape Town holidays also typically include a visit to Robben Island, where the world famous personality and former South African President, Nelson Mandela, was once kept behind bars. Apart from being a World Heritage Site, Robben Island is one of the top tourist destinations, what with the Table Mountain being prominently visible in the backdrop. You would also witness the footsteps of history, with glimpses of the erstwhile apartheid era on display in the region.

Cape Town holidays may not be complete if you did not see some of the stunning architectures associated with the 17th Century at the Castle of Good Hope. This is, arguably, one of the oldest structures in the region. The guided tours that take you through the dungeons and the remains of history would add to your varied experiences of Cape Town holidays. You could look forward to a lot more attractions and witness history unfold in front of your eyes in popular tourist destination.
